After the long holiday every member of the council came in the meeting room. As soon as my boss arrived he came over to my seat. He had something important to say. He wanted me to come to a decision about my promotion. I had worked at the firm for 4 years and I had been expecting this offer but it came as a shock. I still could not come round from that shock. But I could not say a word. I was so embarassed that I hit my glass and my water went over my suit. Likely it was not anything like wine because the stain would not have come out. When my boss realised that I was not ready for anything he went back to his seat.

We started the meeting and new topics just came up one after the other. When nobody said a word my boss always used to  say “Come on…” I finally came to from our previous conversation and joined the discussion…
