Morris and his wife Esther went to the fair (vásár) every year, and every year Morris said to his wife: ‘Esther, I would like to ride (repülni) in that helicopter. ‘Esther always replied (reply - válaszolni) , ‘I know Morris, but that helicopter ride is 50 dollars and 50 dollars is 50 dollars.’
One year Esther and Morris went to the fair, and Morris said, ‘Esther I’m 85 years old. If I don’t ride that helicopter, I may never get another chance ( esélyt kapni).’ Esther replied, ‘Morris that helicopter is 50 dollars and 50 dollars is 50 dollars.’ The pilot (pilóta) overheard (meghallani) the couple and said, ‘folks (srácok) I’ll make you a deal (ajánlatot tesz). I’ll take the both of you for a ride; if you can stay quiet for the entire (egész) ride and not say a word (szólni egy szót) I won’t charge (felszámolni) you! but if you say one word, it’s 50 dollars.’
Morris and Esther agreed (beleegyezni) and they went up. The pilot did all kinds of manoeuvres (manöver), but he did not hear a word. He did his devil tricks (ördögi trükk) over and over again (újból és újból) , but still not a word. When they landed, the pilot turned to Morris and said, ‘oh my God, I did everything I could, but you did not yell out (kiabál). I’m impressed (le van nyűgözve)!’
Morris replied, ‘well I almost (majdnem) said something when Esther fell out (kiesett), but, you know, 50 dollars is 50 dollars!’
